This residence in the Moose Creek drainage near Big Sky, Montana, was built by North Fork Builders and designed by Miller-Roodell Architects, with interiors by Peace Design. The five-bedroom home sits on a 680-acre parcel surrounded by Gallatin National Forest and runs completely off-grid, powered by a solar array on the hill above the house and heated by a geothermal radiant system. Native lodgepole pine was felled, peeled and sanded on site, and the home was designed so the owners' family of 16 could all be together.
